The Family (released equally Malavita and Cosa Nostra in some countries) is a 2013 black comedy law-breaking film co-written and directed by Luc Besson, starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron, and John D'Leo. The movie follows a Mafia family unit in the witness protection program who want to change their lives. The film is based on the French novel Malavita (Badfellas in the 2010 English translation)[4] by Tonino Benacquista.

Mafia dominate Giovanni Manzoni, who offended Don Lucchese, a rival mafia dominate, survives an attempted hit on him and his family at a barbecue. EuropaCorp and Relativity Media signed during March 2012 to develop 2 films, including their distribution. The Family would get the offset one, and the second one would be Three Days to Kill (2014).[6]
